Has your water cooler faucet stopped working properly? Sometimes due to excessive use, the water cooler faucet can become damaged and might need a replacement for the water cooler to dispense water properly.
Here are a few instructions that one must follow when trying to replace the water cooler faucet with a new one:
Drain the water
The first step involves getting rid of the water from the water cooler. You can do this by either draining it via faucet if that is possible. If it is not possible to drain the water via the faucet, then you can just remove the water container from the top of the system. If the water source of the water cooler is a water pipeline, then shut off the water supply by turning off the water source.
Remove the old faucet
Make sure that you have unplugged the unit before you start removing the faucet. Removing the faucet will depend on the water cooler units, some units will be easier to work with and will just require you to turn the faucet clockwise to remove it. Other units will require you to remove the screws to successfully faucet. Since different water cooler comes with different faucet design, you will need to use a service manual to successfully remove the faulty faucet.
Install the new faucet
Once the old faucet is removed, it is time to install the new water cooler faucet. Make sure that you have the correct new faucet to install. You can take your old faucet to the store to get the right faucet or you can use the help of the service manual. Once you have the right faucet, you need to unpack it and check for any damages to the gasket or the faucet handles.

Then you need to wrap a Teflon tape over the male threads of the faucet a couple of times and insert the male or female thread of this faucet into the fitting and turn it clockwise so that it stays in its place. Always make sure that the rubber gaskets are at their appropriate place and check with the installation manual to confirm.
As we discussed previously, some faucets actually require screws to get mounted on the unit. In such cases, you need to place the new faucet properly inside the faucet cover and position the assembly on the connection point and then tighten the screws of the connection. Make sure that you always refer to the manual for the installation instructions.
Test the new faucet
Once you have installed the faucet, you need to check if it is working fine or not. So, attach the water cooler to a water source like water pipeline or fill the reservoir with water, plug the unit and press the faucet to see if it is working or not. Make sure that you check for leaks. If there is a leak, make sure that the male and female threads and properly secured. Tighten all the connections again and then check your new faucet.
